1. Our Commitment to Child Safety

Social Connect is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all users. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We take the safety and protection of children on our platform extremely seriously and work diligently to prevent, detect, and remove any harmful content or behavior.

2. Prohibited Content and Behavior

The following content and behaviors are strictly prohibited on Social Connect:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any visual depiction involving minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct
  • Child Exploitation: Content that sexually exploits or endangers children
  • Grooming: Attempts to establish a relationship with a child for the purpose of sexual abuse or exploitation
  • Sextortion: Threatening to share intimate images or videos of a child
  • Child Trafficking: Content promoting or facilitating the trafficking of children
  • Inappropriate Interactions: Adults engaging with minors in a sexual or predatory manner

3. Detection and Prevention Measures

We implement multiple layers of protection to keep our platform safe:

  • Content Monitoring: Regular review of user-generated content
  • User Reports: Easy-to-access in-app reporting mechanisms for users to flag concerning content
  • Age Verification: Users must be at least 13 years old to use Social Connect
  • Community Guidelines: Clear rules about acceptable behavior and content
  • Moderation Team: Dedicated team to review reported content and take appropriate action

4. In-App Reporting Mechanism

Social Connect provides multiple ways for users to report concerning content or behavior:

  • Report Button: Available on all posts, comments, and user profiles
  • In-App Support: Contact our support team directly through the app settings
  • Emergency Contact: For urgent safety concerns, users can reach our safety team immediately

All reports are reviewed promptly by our moderation team. Users can report content anonymously, and we take all reports seriously.

5. Response to CSAM

When we become aware of CSAM on our platform, we take immediate action:

  • Immediate Removal: Content is removed as soon as it is identified
  • Account Suspension: User accounts involved are immediately suspended and permanently banned
  • Law Enforcement Reporting: We report all instances of CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities
  • Evidence Preservation: We preserve evidence as required by law to assist in investigations
  • Platform Investigation: We conduct internal investigations to identify related content or accounts

6. Legal Compliance

Social Connect complies with all applicable child safety laws and regulations, including:

  • Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
  • Protection of Children from Sexual Predators Act
  • International child protection laws in jurisdictions where we operate
  • Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy
  • Local and national laws regarding the reporting of child abuse

7. Enforcement Actions

Violations of our child safety standards result in swift action:

  • Content Removal: Immediate removal of violating content
  • Account Termination: Permanent ban from Social Connect
  • Law Enforcement Notification: Reports to appropriate authorities
  • No Appeals: Bans for CSAE/CSAM violations are permanent with no possibility of appeal

8. User Education

We believe in empowering our community with knowledge about online safety:

  • Safety tips and resources available in the app
  • Community guidelines clearly explaining acceptable behavior
  • Regular updates about safety features and tools
  • Resources for parents and guardians

9. Parental Controls and Guidance

While Social Connect is designed for users 13 and older, we encourage parents and guardians to:

  • Report any concerning behavior or content
  • Review our community guidelines with their children
  • Contact us if they have concerns about their child's safety
